Plugging into God's Power

As college semester ended I jumped right in to working on some projects that have been on the shelf and catching up with jobs that have had to wait. Suddenly it felt like I hit a wall and needed to take some time out to relax. I was reminded of Isaiah 40:29-31 and decided to spend more time just waiting on the Lord and enjoying some recreation.

After a few days I felt the stirring of the Holy Spirit energising me with fresh inspiration and creative energy. I was reminded of Paul’s letter to the Colossians where he said he was striving with all God’s energy working powerfully within him (Colossians 1:28-29). Paul was labouring for God, energised by God’s mighty power. It reminded me of the experience of Jesse Duplantis when he witnessed the powerful surging under the throne of God, the source of creative power. I was conscious of Holy Spirit bubbling up in and around me and felt ready to bounce back to work. It was almost as if I could sense that pulsating power under God’s throne bubbling up with something that involved me. But what was it?

In Genesis we are told that the Holy Spirit was brooding over the waters, hovering with creative intention and mighty power. But the end result was not a chaotic bursting forth, but a beautifully ordered and perfectly orchestrated unfolding of God’s creative plan. As I waited and prayed with a friend, more revelation came: future plans began to unfold and understanding came for some new projects and how they will fit together. I was relieved to know what the creative energy will flow forth into. It seems that as well as being filled with God’s creative power, we also need his wisdom and His strategy, so that our creative exploits unfold in the best way possible and like God, we are able to say, ‘It is good.’

What is unfolding for me I will share later…..
